The Clippy EM272z1 microphone is an omnidirectional microphone designed by the British company Micbooster. When used as a pair, it proves to be an excellent choice for field recording, particularly for capturing ambiances. Its high-quality capsules offer a low inherent noise level (80 dB), ensuring clear and detailed recordings, which is ideal for atmospheric soundscapes.

Thanks to its compact size, the Clippy can be discreetly positioned in confined or hidden spaces, offering great flexibility of use. While its sound quality is excellent, its output level is slightly lower than some similar microphones.
This microphone is available in various configurations: mono, stereo, or quad, and can be equipped with XLR or 3.5mm jack connectors, making it adaptable to a multitude of equipment.
Specifications and Performance
Here are some key specifications for these microphones:
Frequency Range: 20 Hz to 20 kHz
Dynamic Range: 105 dB
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 80 dB
The capsule used in these microphones is the Primo EM272z1, manufactured by the Japanese company Primo. In terms of quality, the input level of these microphones is remarkably high, comparable to what you find in major brand microphones.
Personally, I primarily use these microphones for my outdoor and nature recordings. They deliver very good quality for capturing ambiances, making the sound natural and immersive.
